Onboard Intelligence - The end of the DVR

Every Mobotix camera has an on board Intel processor which creates a high degree of intelligence at the camera level, moving the intelligence of surveillance systems out of and away from centralised Digital Video Recorders (DVR’s), making them redundant.

On board pre and post alarm event buffers and internal video data storage capability also improves system integrity by eliminating the DVR as the central point of failure and sophisticated on board event management dramatically reduces network load and video data storage requirements. Video data is stored on industry standard hard drives.

Standard Network Infrastructure

Mobotix cameras run on standard network infrastructure, hard drives and PC’s and by using power over Ethernet technology, installation and infrastructure costs are kept to a minimum. This also reduces the high degree of “supplier lock in” associated with conventional DVR based surveillance systems.

Functionality.

Decentralised system intelligence distributes functionality throughout the IP surveillance infrastructure. Through the camera interface, doors, gates and barriers and a host of other systems and functions can be monitored and controlled, remotely, from any location in the world.

Once you have installed your Mobotix surveillance system, for enhanced security and to further reduce costs if required, all Mobotix surveillance systems can be remotely monitored from our solutions partner who hold the creditation of BS 5979 category 2.
